Township Digging Out From Massive Storm
Many sections of the Township suffered considerable damage as a result of the heavy storms this past weekend. If you watch the Commissioners Work Session on cable TV, you can see pictures of some of the damage.
Many streets suffered significant damage, including Earlington Road, Georges Lane, Hastings Road, Hathaway Lane, Wynnefield Drive, Karakung Drive, College Avenue and Township Line Road. Numerous other streets have suffered damage and are receiving priority treatment from the Township.
As a result of the devastation, the Township is submitting a Disaster Emergency Declaration to the Delaware County Emergency Management Agency. The Township has also implemented emergency measures with the Sanitation Department, has cleared all bulk trash along Wynnefield Drive and taken other measures to assist those residents who were particularly hard hit by the storm.

Special thanks to the police, volunteer fire companies, Township employees and EMTs who responded to and conducted water rescues, who responded to lightning strikes at homes, and who assisted with related medical emergencies. |
