Paddock Park - Questions & Answers About the Summer

As you may know, Paddock Park is one of the sites of the Township's Summer Playground Program. Because of state law, and to assure the safety of the children in the program, use of the park by the public is limited between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Although there are signs posted stating that the Park is closed, the Township understands that residents would like to use the Park during those hours. If you would like to do so, when you come to the Park, please ask for John Turner (or whomever is in charge) and he or she will assist you.

I am working with the Parks & Recreation Department, the Paddock Farms Civic Association, and residents so that everyone's concerns are addressed. If you have additional questions, please contact me, or the Parks & Recreation Department at (610) 446-9397.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Darby Road Construction

The road work necessary to reconstruct and relocate the intersection of Marple Road and Darby Road is scheduled to begin on July 6, 2009, when clearing will commence along the roadway.

If PennDOT approves all of the necessary construction permits, the road will be closed approximately one week later (during the week of July 13), and will remain closed, around the clock, through Labor Day.

As soon as I have more information, including detour information, I will provide it to you.
Billboards Update

The next Zoning Hearing Board public hearing on the challenge by the Bartkowski Group (also known as "BIG") to the constitutionality of the Township's ordinance prohibiting construction of billboards will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2009, at 7:30 p.m., at Lynnewood Elementary School on Lawrence Road in Havertown.

I wholeheartedly support the ban on billboards.

Paddock Road Repaving

Although the Township has limited funds for repaving, portions of Paddock Road will be included in this year's program. Milling is scheduled to begin on or about Tuesday, June 30, 2009, and should be completed by Friday, July 10, 2009.
