 Claim  a Hoax
 
The report of an "alleged" sexual assault at Haverford College on Monday, April 13, 2009 was a hoax. According to the Haverford Township Police Department, the report was false and no assault took place.

4th Ward Meeting Scheduled for Wed. , May 13, 2009

A 4th Ward Constituent meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in the Quatrani Building (behind the Township Building) at 2325 Darby Road in Havertown. This is an open forum for all 4th Ward residents to  ask questions, comment about issues, etc.
 
In addition to Commissioner Dan Siegel, other invited participants include Township Manager Larry Gentile, Assistant Township Manager Lori Hanlon-Widdop, Assistant Township Manager Tim Denny and Police Chief Carmen Pettine.
 
We look forward to meeting with you, to answer your questions, to learn about your concerns, and to work with you to make Haverford Township an even better place to live.

Water Company Construction to Begin on Coopertown Road and Other Streets
 
Beginning April 20, 2009, Aqua Pennsylvania will replace the water main on Coopertown Road between Quaker Lane and College Avenue, on College Avenue between Coopertown Road and a point 400 feet east of Spring Mill Lane, and on the section of Tunbridge Road that arcs on College Avenue in Haverford Township.  
 
The project is scheduled to begin during the week of April 20, 2009 and to be completed in July 2009. Paving restoration will be completed in August of 2009.
 
The  work hours for the project will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily; some Saturday work may be necessary to keep the project on schedule. The roadway will be closed in the area of construction between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.  A detour will be in place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m. the roadway will be open to normal traffic. 
 
Access will be provided for school buses, emergency, mail, and trash service. Residents will have access to their properties. The access point for residents will change periodically depending on the crew's location.

EPA Meeting About Havertown
Superfund Site

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has scheduled a meeting for Monday, April 20, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Quatrani Building (behind the Township Building) to discuss the next phase of the environmental cleanup at the Havertown PCP Superfund site along Eagle Road.
 
The public is invited to attend this meeting and to ask questions of the EPA officials in attendance.
