March 2012 | Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier
It's easier to be lazy when you're organized. |
| Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.
Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now. That is, read this now and then file or delete it. How ironic if it were to become e-clutter! |

DO |
| |
Do Hitch
A simple way to reduce clutter is to "never waste a trip." That is, a trip upstairs, to the kitchen, to the office down the hall: whenever you're walking somewhere, look around for an item that needs to be taken there & let it hitch a ride. Return those shoes to your closet, that stapler to your colleague, your surfaces to zen. |

DON'T
|
| |
Don't Hesitate
Ditch the idea that all messages need to be carefully crafted & perfect. If the thought strikes you to thank, check in on, ask a question of, or otherwise communicate with a friend or coworker, just do it. Send that email, make that phone call, write that postcard if you like -- just get the ball rolling. |

GET
|
| |
Get Plugged In The thoroughly modern problem of not enough room on the power strip can be solved with these little gadgets: tiny extension cords that convert an outlet-hogging charger box into a slim, one-outlet-using citizen of the strip. One of those small changes that makes life easier. |

GIVE |
| |
Give Fun The Police Athletic League helps underserved kids choose sports over crime & violence. They're expanding to Chicago's south side & my friend is collecting new & gently-used equipment (baseball, soccer, basketball, softball, golf, street hockey, & tennis). Contact me for a pickup in Chicago or Michigan! |
