January 2012 | Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier
It's easier to be lazy when you're organized. |
| Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.

Do Recycle Electronics...Really
Seventeen states have laws against tossing electronics (not just computers) into the garbage, & Illinois is now one of them: the Electronic Recycling and Reuse Act is now in effect. Like Illinois, most states make recycling free for the consumer. Find out what's banned from landfills here & how to recycle here and here. |

DON'T
|
| |
Don't Do Laundry
...Well don't do it too often, anyway. Check out Real Simple's "When-to-Wash-It Handbook" so you're sure to avoid shortening garments' life spans & wasting water &, most importantly, avoid spending more of your precious hours loading and unloading than necessary. |

GET
|
| |
Get Stuck Large magnetic pockets are great for displaying often-used info (schedules, recipes, phone extensions), emergency numbers, or artwork: replace yesterday's masterpiece with today's & recycle the old, photographing it if it's true genius. If your fridge isn't magnetic, try it on a filing cabinet or with one of these products. |

Give a Dog New Life
A surprising number of dogs suffer needlessly or are euthanized because they have hip dysplasia, for which medical care has become ridiculously expensive. Hip Dysplasia Funding is an all-volunteer non-profit that helps needy families (& dogs!) get that care. Save a life and keep a family together by donating here. |
