Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be thankful when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now and then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Recycle Electronics & Save Cash

I get all of my printer ink at Cartridge World: refilled cartridges reduce waste & save me money. But it gets even better! Here in Chicago, they accept unwanted electronics for recycling, free of charge. PC Rebuilders & Recyclers responsibly handles them while keeping the planet & their workers safe. Drop off or call.

DON'T

Don't Empty Your Inbox

An empty email inbox is a great goal, but for some of us a better one is: don't stress about old messages. If they're unimportant, they're no problem. The real goal is to identify & act on the important emails, so corral them with flags or in an "Action" folder. BUT if the unimportant ones do stress you, deal with them! Unsubscribe, delete en masse, or move them to an "Old messages" folder.

GET

Get Easy Kitchen Cleaning

My husband is a culinary geek, & the only item of kitchen equipment I impressed him with when we merged households was this tiny piece of plastic, the Scrape & Kleen pot & stove scraper. "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication," said da Vinci -- he would've loved this. Great stocking stuffer for your favorite cook.

GIVE

Give Bundles of Joy to Babies

Bundle of Joy Diaper Bank & Help a Mother Out: brilliant! Struggling families can't afford $125+/month for diapers, buy them with food stamps, or use cloth at daycare. Is it food, transportation, or diapers this month? Clients of these groups don't have to make that hard decision. Help here & here with diapers or dollars.

  Coach Approach for Organizers

Introducing Samuel Boren Gonzalez

My husband, Carlos, and I are especially thankful for this year....we had a baby! Sam is beautiful and he and I are both healthy & thriving. (He's a big eater & sleeper, though also something of a night owl -- all just like his parents.) Carlos and I feel incredibly proud & lucky.
