| Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier
It's easier to be lazy when you're organized. |
| Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.
Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now. That is, read this now and then file or delete it. How ironic if it were to become e-clutter! |

DO |
| |
Do Take Five
Take five minutes as you walk in the door at night to do an easy put-away. Bring all newly-acquired stuff to the spot where it now belongs; remove from your bag or purse the empty water bottle & finished magazine; recycle the junk mail. Daily redistribution & weeding eliminates problems of lost items & accumulated clutter. |

DON'T
|
| |
Don't Answer
Don't answer that phone; don't reply to that email. Yes, people today have a million ways to get our attention -- cell phone, text, email, i.m. -- but we also have ways to control who gets in and when. It's not rude to let them leave a message or wait a day for a reply to a non-urgent email. Limiting distractions is an essential modern skill. |

GET
|
| |
Get Greenheart Greenheart is my go-to place (in Chicago & online) for reasonably-priced, fair trade, useful & beautiful gifts. Their accessories, foods, decor, toiletries, & toys have thrilled my friends & family for years now -- whether or not they knew their gift was made by an artisan in an Indian village or Chicago's inner city. |

GIVE |
| |
Give Alternatives
Youth agency Alternatives, Inc. serves 3,000 at-risk Chicago kids & their families. Their programs provide life skills, career preparedness, counseling, leadership development, substance abuse & violence prevention, and arts & academic enrichment. And they helped make these murals along Lake Shore Dr.! Help out here.
