Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be lazy when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now and then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Tackle Toppling
Contain tiny things so they can be moved all together & won't topple when you reach for one. Medicine cabinets are big culprits: plucking out the right bottle feels like a game of Operation. But corral them in an open bin on the shelf & grabbing the whole group or just one is a snap. For tea, vitamins, small tools, art supplies -- so simple.
DON'T

Don't Make Hard Decisions
When deciding what to keep or toss, focusing on the easy decisions can make the hard decisions disappear. Is it painful to donate your letterman jacket? Not sure it's smart to chuck those papers? Create space in your closet or files (or calendar or budget) by chipping away at items that are easy to part with, & you won't have to.
GET

Get Slotted
This new style of inexpensive drawer divider is kind of a revelation: snap them apart and configure them any way you want in a drawer, like a (very easy) puzzle. They create enough of a barrier to separate your pens from your scissors and bring a measure of calm to the junk drawer.
GIVE

Give a Kid a Chance

If kids start school without language & literacy skills, they often fall behind & stay there: more likely to drop out, go to jail, & otherwise miss their chance at a productive life. Jumpstart, rated 4 stars by Charity Navigator, closes that gap. Studies even estimate that "every $1 yields an estimated $7 return to society."

Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services helps busy people streamline with tips, tools, and hands-on projects that make everyday routines and spaces more efficient and less cluttered. Time, money, and energy are then free for the things that matter most.
