Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be lazy when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips from me, Molly Boren
of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services.
I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this now and then file or delete it.
How ironic if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Change the Subject
In an email exchange, save yourself & the other guy time & confusion: update the subject line each time to reflect your message. This way no one needs to hunt for the relevant info. When negotiating a meeting time, start the subject line with, "3pm Mon 3/29?" If he counters, update the subject with your new choice ("4pm Mon 3/29!").
DON'T

Don't Bargain-Hunt for Gas
When I told my brother-in-law about the 10 cents per gallon I saved by researching & then driving 5 miles further for gas, he politely suppressed his eye-roll. His point was: if you only save $1.10, the hunt isn't worth the time, effort, & extra gas to get there (unless you enjoy it on its merits). Don't tell him, but I think he's right.
GET

Get Great Art for a Great Cause
I was floored by the art (& prices) at Project Onward in Chicago's Cultural Center. The gallery adjoins a beautiful studio where developmentally disabled artists create the art they sell. I bought a soap sculpture from Sophia and my dad bought a cat painting from George, both of whom we got to meet and thank. They're on Facebook too.
