Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be thankful when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips provided by
Molly Boren of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services. I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this and then file or delete it. How ironic
if it were to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Find Your Cell Phone
WheresMyCellPhone.com is a great, free tool to have in your virtual save-me-time toolbox. It's best used as a backup to 1 or 2 dedicated "homes" for your phone: e.g., I know that 99% of the time mine's either in my bag or with its charger. But during that 1% of the time, I can type my number into this site and make it ring!
DON'T

Don't Fritter Away Your Time
Ask yourself, "if this task were the only thing I accomplished today, would I be satisfied?" If the answer is "no," don't do it. Find a "yes." I first read this in Timothy Ferriss' The 4-Hour Work Week -- full of great productivity tips even if you like your 40-hour work week just fine. Principle: match your actions to your values.
GET

Get 2 Ways to Save on Ink
Check your computer's font list to see if you already have Spranq Eco Sans. If not, download it for free; it uses up to 20% less ink. When your cartridge does finally run out, drop by Cartridge World and refill it for less than the cost of a new one. Less $, less waste, more awesomeness.
GIVE

Give Books and Get Books
One of my favorite non-profits ever, Open Books, has just opened a gorgeous and comfy used bookstore in Chicago's River North (just off the Chicago stop on the Brown line). Proceeds support their amazing array of literacy efforts. You can also shop online. Makes for great gifts! Read all about it in the Chicago Tribune.
A SPECIAL "GIVE" (OR "GET")

Gift Certificates for Organizing Services
Add Simplicity Works gift certificates to your holiday gift-giving (or gift-getting!) list. It's one present you can be sure won't add to the recipient's clutter.
Email Molly (molly@sworganizing.com) or call 773-915-3537 to purchase by check or credit card.

Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services helps busy people streamline their lives with tips, tools, and hands-on projects that make everyday routines and spaces more efficient and less cluttered. Time, money, and energy are then free for the things that matter most.
