Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be lazy when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips provided by
Molly Boren of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services. I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 2 minutes or less, do it now.
That is, read this and then file or delete it. I wouldn't want
it to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Cure Your Home
...with Apartment Therapy's Fall Cure. Choose a home-improvement project and, with other "curees" on the program, break it down into manageable steps over 8 weeks. I'm doing it! I'd love to hear from those of you out there who are too -- we all have a few projects to tackle, even a professional organizer.
DON'T

Don't Buy Hangers
Help yourself maintain a well-edited closet -- one where anything you grab is something you like -- by refusing to buy new hangers. Decide what number of items is reasonable for you. Then it's your puzzle to ferret out those you no longer love, to free up a hanger for a new item. Principle: use limits to your advantage.
GET

Get a Duplicate Phone Charger
"A duplicate?? Who are you and what have you done to Molly?" -- I can hear the worried calls now. But an extra, stored in your luggage, is a smart duplication if you're the type to forget to pack your charger when you travel (and end up buying new ones). Principle: store items where you use them.
GIVE

Give to Women Getting to Work
Got a suit that would be lovely on someone but makes you look green?  The Bottomless Closet accepts professional clothes on the 2nd Sat of the month (except Sept and Jan), 9am - noon. Volunteers help unload from the alley behind 445 N. Wells St., Chicago; enter from Illinois, east of Wells. Next date: 11/14.
