Do Fix Your Files
Any quick action that makes filing easier is worth it; a backlog of unfiled paper strikes fear in our hearts. Don't Answer Emails For the first 30-60 minutes of your day, put a ban on answering answering non-essential emails. Use your timer to limit time spent on any truly essential ones. Ideally, don't even open your inbox. Use a focused morning mind for projects you've been putting off. (Turn off alerts and hide your Blackberry, too!) |

Get Coupons on Your iPhone This one's just for iPhone or iPod Touch users at the moment (a breed to which I don't belong, so please report back on your success!): download the Yowza app and get coupons directly on your phone, for use in nearby stores as you shop. Sounds almost too good to be true. |

Give to Your Neighbors with Freecycle Have you all joined Freecycle? (Click "Sign Up" in the top right corner.) Chicago and surrounding areas have vibrant lists where you can give away things you no longer need, and search for things you do. Furniture, electronics, paint, clothes, moving supplies - you name it, you can find a local taker (or maybe a giver). |
