Tips and Tricks to Make Life Easier

It's easier to be lazy when you're organized.

Here are 4 quick monthly tips provided by
Molly Boren of Simplicity Works Home + Office Organizing Services. I hope they make your life a little easier.

Remember: if it takes 1 minute or less, do it now.
That is, read this and then file or delete it. I wouldn't want
it to become e-clutter!
DO

Do Trash It
It's so simple: pop a wastebasket in each room, including the car.  That way, you
-- and your guests -- don't need to go hunting (or dropping things any old place, yikes) each time a candy wrapper or Kleenex needs to be dealt with. Rather than buying new, reuse a flower pot or other container.
DON'T

Don't Turn Left
When driving, avoid turning left when you can. Making a few rights instead of waiting and waiting (and idling, and spewing fumes) for that left saves you time, frustration, gas, and ultimately money. It's a tried and true UPS trick: it saves them about 3 million gallons of gas and 31,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.
GET

Get Your Money Back
What if you've purchased your tickets for that fabulous trip...and now the price has tumbled? Instead of sulking, try getting a refund if the price drops by $75 or more. You could get a voucher for the difference, minus the standard rebooking fee. Sites like Yapta guide you through the process.
GIVE

Give School Supplies
Clearing out those supply cabinets and drawers in advance of another school year? (Do it! It feels great!) In Chicago, Christopher House, that fabulous organization supporting low-income kids and their families, is accepting donations of the good-quality extras you find. Drop off 7:30am-7pm at 2507 N. Greenview.
