Dear , As the year comes to an end, we reflect on all that you have done for us. Thanks to your commitment, we are riding out the financial storm and ending our year with hope. The combination of your generosity and our internal prudence has seen an increase in our support from individuals just like you alongside a 5% reduction in our expenses - that's $300,000 - since this time last year. Thank you!
Despite our best efforts to cut costs, we still have tremendous needs. Our funding from the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services has dropped substantially, as have donations from churches and organizations. At the same time, we are serving more abused and neglected youth than ever before.
Please consider making a year-end gift to the Children's Home. A gift of $50 would be a blessing to us. With a gift of $100, $250 or even $500 you will have a significant impact. We are grateful for any amount. Please donate now by clicking
here.
Your donation will help children like 18-year-old Sarah (not her real name). Sarah has been in the foster care system since infancy when a car accident killed her mother and left Sarah disabled. Sarah was withdrawn and failing school when she arrived at UMCH last year. Our staff, her therapist and her UMCH volunteer Big Sister worked with her on asserting herself and building her self-confidence. Sarah is now passing all her classes. She speaks up in class and even opens up to others about her disability. Sarah plans to attend college next year.
There is nothing like seeing a person realize her future is full of possibilities, whether it's Sarah coming out of her shell and achieving her potential, a teen reading her college acceptance letter, a child receiving his first straight-A report card, or a family opening the door to their new apartment.
Making those life-changing moments possible is our passion and mission. Please help us continue offering redemptive, healing services by clicking
here to make a generous gift today.
Thank you for your support of children and youth, and for being an important part of the United Methodist Children's Home.
Gratefully,
Beverly O. Cochran, Administrator
Gerry M. Davis, Board Chairperson
