Christ on Capitol Hill, St. Paul. What is God calling us to be and do in this time and place? This is the question that we pursue in the Mission Renewal Process, an eighteen-month journey that begins on Saturday, Oct. 27. This journey involves recruiting a team of 6-8 lay leaders who will participate in quarterly retreats focused on listening to God, listening in the congregation, and listening in the community, which feed into the development of a renewed missional imagination for your ministry.

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota recently released a statement to publicly oppose the photo voter identification constitutional amendment that Minnesotans will consider on the ballot on Nov. 6.

"There are over 200,000 registered voters in Minnesota who don't currently have a valid photo ID. The system of providing photo IDs will cost Minnesota taxpayers $50 million we cannot spare to fix a problem the clean election process in Minnesota simply does not have," stated Jodi Harpstead, chief executive officer at LSS.
