Happy Synod Assembly Week!

It's that time again. The Saint Paul Area Synod Assembly will be held this Friday and Saturday at Prince of Peace in Burnsville. Please read this email in advance to prepare for your role at the assembly. 

 

A few reminders
Getting there
Prince of Peace is located at 13901 Fairview Dr. in Burnsville. See the alert about road construction and to download directions.

The registration desk will open at 7:30 a.m. on Friday. Opening worship begins at 8:30 a.m. See the proposed agenda on page eight of the Pre-Assembly Report.

What to bring
  • Dress in layers. The temperature in the sanctuary varies.
  • Pack a water bottle and/or thermos. Ceramic mugs will not be sold this year as they have been in the past.
  • Print reports from ministry partners, if desired, located in the  Pre-Assembly Report. All other materials are provided in the Assembly Bulletin that will be distributed at the registration desk.

Review materials in advance
It is helpful for voting members to review resolutions, election materials, and other items to be considered by the assembly in advance. These materials are available in the Pre-Assembly Report and will be provided in the Assembly Bulletin.       

   
Assembly worship offering
Offering supports flood relief in western North Dakota
The offering received will be used with ELCA Disaster Response to support continued relief efforts to those affected by the flooding along the Souris River in North Dakota. Checks may be written to the Saint Paul Area Synod, noted for assembly offering.

Interstate 35E and 94 commons closed this weekend

Both directions of Interstate 35E between 10th St./Wacouta Ave. and 11th St., as well as both directions of Interstate 94 between 5th St./10th Street and the ramp to 12th St., will close beginning Friday evening.

 

Eastbound I-94 will close at 10:00 p.m. Friday, and westbound I-94 will close at 8:00 p.m. Northbound I-35E will close at 10:00 p.m. Friday, and southbound I-35E will close at 8:00 p.m.

Did we miss something?
 
If you have questions in advance, please call the synod office at 651.224.4313, but be aware that we will be closed on Thursday for assembly preparations. The general voice mail will be checked occasionally and calls returned as we are able. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, May 21 at 12:00 noon.
