Use These Free Flu-Related Bulletins in Your Office "Got Your Shot?" and "Get a Flu Shot, Not the Flu" posters are available now. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is offering two patient education pieces for use in the primary care office. The 2009 "Got Your Shot?" posters (multiple versions available) prompt patients to inform office staff if they received a flu vaccination else where. The "Get a Flu Shot, Not the Flu" (English/Spanish bilingual) poster reminds Medicare beneficiaries that Medicare covers their seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccinations.

"Meaningful Use" and Quality Reporting Linked, Says Blumenthal Performance measurement to inform feedback is a key issue. David Blumenthal, the National Coordinator for Health IT, recently stated that the data health care providers collect and analyze are central to his office's health care strategy.
"The key to meaningful use is to know how to measure for performance and to be able to give feedback to providers," Blumenthal said at a conference in October. He pointed to the National Quality Forum's adaptation of existing quality measures for use in electronic health records as a step in creating standard metrics comparable across practices.
