ADA Offers Free CKD Webcast
"Prevention & Management of CKD in the Diabetes Patient" focuses on patient care.

The American Diabetes Association (ADA) presents "Prevention & Management of Chronic Kidney Disease in the Diabetes Patient," a two-part Webcast that features slide presentations and categorized question-and-answer links.

Diabetic nephropathy occurs in up to 40% of patients with diabetes and is characterized by proteinuria and progressive kidney failure. Intensive diabetes management focused on proper glucose control and lowering of hypertension has been shown to delay the onset of microalbuminuria and progression of nephropathy.

ADA is offering CME/CE credits for completion of the course. Read more >>

The analysis showed that hypertension with CKD, rates of CKD stages 3 and 4 in African-Americans, obesity and diabetes were more prevalent in the KEEP data than in the NHANES data. Read more >>
