Greetings!

Around the world demonstrators are standing up to let their voices be heard. Throughout the Arab world we have seen mass protests, which have resulted in the overthrow of governments in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya. In more than 900 cities throughout Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, the "occupy movement" has brought protestors out in droves to illustrate their frustration over social and economic inequality. We are experiencing a time of massive global change and increased awareness that countries around the world all share more in common than we do differences.

During this time of Thanksgiving, take time to reflect on your friendships and partnerships around the world and hope that our global economy recovers peacefully.

Sincerely,

2011 Citizen Diplomacy Celebration
An Evening of Global Music, Cuisine & Friendship

Dancer
Thank you to all of our Citizen Diplomats who attended the Annual Citizen Diplomacy Celebration at the Wilshire Country Club last week.
Charlie Woo, CEO & Founder of Megatoys, received the 2011 IVCLA Outstanding Citizen Diplomat Award and made heartwarming remarks about his long-time involvement meeting IVCLA delegations from around the world. Create Now was presented the 2011 Outstanding Resource Award for sharing with international visitors their important work mentoring at-risk youth through the arts.

Four new Directors were elected to the IVCLA Board. We are pleased to welcome Michele Buchanan, Ahmad Iqbal, Kenneth McGillivray and Matthew Olsen and look forward to their ideas and enthusiasm.

This annual event plays an important role in continuing our work to connect Los Angeles with the rest of the world through cultural & professional exchange programs. We are sincerely thankful to all of our event sponsors for their support:
