Welcome to our March edition of "Suze in the News."
The Vancouver real estate market is pretty hot right now, we are seeing multiple offers, listings selling in record time above the asking price and overall a positive outlook.
Suze Interiors staged a west side townhome in February that sold for $112,000 over asking after 5 offers in the first 2 weeks.
Read on to see what else we have been up to since the beginning of the year.

WHEN FURNITURE & ACCESSORIES ALONE AREN'T ENOUGH
Suze Interiors does far more than just bring in furniture and accessories for staging purposes, as certified Interior Decorators we do so much more.
We staged this Kits condo this past week, and in the weeks prior, we updated the dated and worn kitchen. We replaced the damaged countertops; the appliances and track lighting were updated; the sink and faucet were changed and a neutral colour was applied to tone down the bold green and red paint that previously existed.
For approximately a $15,000 investment, (new blinds & painting throughout, light fixtures, kitchen updates, closet organizer & full 2 bedroom stage) the realtor is listing it $25,000 above what he had planned to, had the work not been done.
Now this trendy Kits neighbourhood condo has a kitchen to match!

Splurge on Furniture with Longevity
Candice Olson is truly a talented designer and an inspiration to me in the world of decorating and creating beautiful spaces. For 2011, Candice sees people moving toward investment pieces - quality sofas, custom upholstery, and solid, indestructible dining tables.
This is music to my ears and something I try to convince my clients to do, it makes so much sense to invest in quality pieces for many reasons. So many of the homes I go into, people are tired of their cheap, trendy furniture. If you invest in the most expensive sofa you can afford for example, it will last for years.
Getting a fairly neutral fabric, will allow you to change the look whenever you are bored with it, punching it up in the spring with bright fun colours and warming it up with more texture in the fall. It is far less expensive to switch up the cushions and throws than to invest in a new sofa every few years - not to mention the incredible comfort of a quality sofa. (it just doesn't compare to an Ikea sofa)
