Well April slipped by in a bit of a blur & I was disappointed not to get April's edition of Suze in the News published. With a trip to the east to move Mom into a retirement home, there just wasn't time to do it all!
As we move closer to summer, there seems to be a different hum around the city. More people appear optimistic and the results that I am seeing with real estate sales & prices, it is no wonder. NATIONAL AVE. CONDO SELLS BEFORE COMPETITION
This two bedroom condo had its work cut out for it and so did Suze Interiors. The building it was located in, had 6 units for sale at the same time.
Suze Interiors staged it and finally the call came...."it had sold," and the only one of the 6 that had.
This particular client had used home staging services in the past & knew the benefits. She said that "she was quite certain that staging played a large role in the sale of her condo."

| REDESIGN VS STAGING
Redesign:
Suze Interiors will go into the home or condo & work independently or with the homeowner, to assist them to get their home "ready to sell."
We go through the home & declutter, rearrange the furniture so that is has a workable open flow & we make a list. This list will include the changes that I recommend, which may include furniture to be put into temporary storage or sold, decluttering, depersonalizing,
updates & repairs that need to be made i.e. light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, neutralizing paint colours, replacing worn or outdated flooring etc.
For a small investment, the home takes on a completely updated & fresh look & is much more appealing to the average home buyer.

Staging:
We start with a complimentary estimate, which is followed by a proposal that includes the cost of furnishing empty or partially furnished spaces with furniture, artwork & accessories.
Cost: The first month includes staging fees (sourcing, setting up, removal), movers (in/out) & furniture rentals. The second month onward is strictly furniture rentals & they are 50% less and charged by the week. (until the end of May, 1st month rentals are discounted by 20%)

Decorating the "Eclectic" Way
The last of the decorating styles is Eclectic. (whoever came up with such a name?)
Eclectic decorating doesn't adhere to any one style, but is a combination of two or more styles and is certainly never boring.
Many people decorate their homes this way I find, the exception might be someone who loves the contemporary clean & uncluttered look, they often don't like to deviate from this.
The "rule" for combining styles together is that one style should take priority and be 70 - 80% of the overall style, while the other makes up the remaining 20 -30%.
The majority of this living room has contemporary elements, although the sofa is a very traditional style.
