Spiced Nuts
These make a great hostess gift or to have on hand if you are entertaining this holiday season.
1.) Heat 1 tbsp. olive oil, 2 tbsp. balsamic vinegar & 1/4 cup cane sugar (like demerara) in saucepan.
Sprinkle in cumin, paprika, cayenne & salt. (start w/less than 1 tsp. of each; add more to taste) & mix well. Add 1 cup each almonds & pecans. Stir to coat & cook over med.-low heat until mix becomes sticky, at least 5 min.
2.) Turn nuts onto baking dish or sheet & bake in 350 degree oven for 15-20 min., or until crunchy.
3.) Serve @ room temp. (nuts will keep for a few weeks in an airtight container.) Makes 2 cups.

Updating in a Slow Market
"Successful Outcome"

This Kitsilano condo had been on the market for 3 months with no success in getting it sold, and the home owners knew that they had to do something. They hired Suze Interiors to come in and make some changes.
The first thing we did was pick a paint colour that warmed up the space, chose new carpeting for this office area, replacing the stained & worn existing carpet.
The remainder of the condo was updated with new light fixtures, plugs & switches, bathroom & kitchen taps, flooring in the bathrooms & kitchen, door knobs, blinds for the windows & finally with some great furniture & accessories.
The good news is that it had an accepted offer in just over 3 weeks. (November 2008 )

Head Shots for Realtors
I don't think I am alone when I say that I don't enjoy getting my photo taken. In the world of marketing, Internet & promoting ourselves, a good photo is a must!
Melissa Voth McHugh, owner of Voth Photography was hired to create just that, an updated photo that was needed for my website. I had asked that we go to Kits beach, as "setting the stage" so to speak, was really important to me. Melissa happily obliged & we spent an hour or so taking multiple shots with multiple back drops. The best part was how Melissa made it comfortable & actually a really enjoyable experience for me (which I didn't think was possible). Below is only one of many options I had to choose from, which included some great black & whites.
