ReikiReiki and Food Can Help You Energize This Spring
During these cold winter months, it's difficult to imagine longer days and increased sunshine. But spring is approaching. And with the change of seasons should come a change in the way we eat, says Reiki practitioner and holistic health counselor, Madalina Blanton. "When we come out of the darker time of winter, we are ready to expand and to grow," she says. "Ideally, the food we eat will provide us with nourishment that sustains us throughout the day and gives us abundant and constant energy to take on new projects."

In spring, Blanton says, we naturally cleanse after a heavy winter diet. Also, "our foods need to emphasize the expansiveness of the sour and sweet tastes, the 'yang' quality of spring growth," she says. "I recommend green foods, sprouts, and young leaves. Complex carbohydrates such as grains, seeds and beans have a naturally sweet taste and also are very suited for spring."

Reiki, a system of natural healing initiated in Japan, uses vibrational energy to provide balance, clarity and focus, as well as a stronger spiritual connection.  As we swing into spring, says Blanton, blending the energy work of Reiki with appropriate food choice can really provide a boost to our system.

MeditatingMamaWith "Meditating Mamas," NJ Mom Inspires Women  to Discover Their Own Extraordinary Powers
"Meditating Mamas was created after I experienced a crisis where I felt totally disconnected from who I was," says Rita Desnoyers-Garcia, founder of "Meditating Mamas," which provides women with tools to uncover their own individual power and wisdom through workshops and one-on-one coaching. "I started working with a coach who helped me look at what I had created in my life and how it was a reflection of how I felt on the inside," says Desnoyers-Garcia. "As I discovered ways to reconnect to my innate peace, joy, and abundance, I was inspired to share what I had learned with other women around me."

Desnoyers-Garcia uses guided meditation and other tools to assist women in all areas of life -- career, parenting, relationships, health, and wealth. Her next workshop is on Sat. March 21, from 9:30 am-11:30am, focusing on "Relationships." If this work speaks to you, contact Desnoyers-Garcia at [email protected]. Visit her blog: www.becomingawake1.blogspot.com.
