FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Pasta Manufacturer says Business is M'm M'm Good!® Philadelphia Macaroni Co. Acquires Campbell Soup Asset in Ohio
Philadelphia, PA June 24, 2010 - Philadelphia Macaroni Company, one of the country's oldest and largest industrial pasta manufacturers, has agreed to purchase a Campbell Soup pasta factory located in Wauseon, Ohio. Under the terms of the sale agreement, German Village Products in Wauseon, OH will be closed by Campbell's prior to settling with Philadelphia Macaroni in mid-July, 2010. A long-term supply agreement between Campbell's and Philadelphia Macaroni was also sealed. The products made at the Wauseon facility will be manufactured via the existing Philadelphia Macaroni network of factories. From Noodle O's to Dora For nearly a century, Philadelphia Macaroni has supplied Campbell Soup with a large variety of custom pasta products - many destined for the company's popular canned soups. Company folklore claims that in the early 1900's PMC founder, Anthony Marano, invented the Noodle O by cutting a tube-shaped pasta called Ditalini into thin slices. Later, the company helped produce noodles shaped like children's characters such as Batman, Shrek, Dora, Goldfish, and ABC's.
