COUSCOUS
A Versatile & Healthy  Pasta

couscous
Couscous is a pre-cooked granular pasta made from 100% semolina flour.  We partner with US Durum Ltd in Lancaster, PA to market couscous to the industrial and food service markets.

US Durum manufactures approx. 25 million pounds of couscous annually and they are organic & kosher certified.

Couscous isn't just a side dish!  It can be used in deserts, breakfast foods, and for baking.

FAST FACTS:
Medium Couscous is the most common size and measures 1-2mm.

Whole wheat couscous is made from whole wheat durum semolina.  It has a darker color and a stronger taste.

Couscous cooks in less than 5 minutes and easily absorbs the flavor of what it's cooked in.

Couscous can be easily frozen.

Product is offered in
25lb, 50 lb paper and 2,200 lb Jumbo bags.

Recession changing grocery shopping behavior

Adopting New Behavior to Save on Food Shoppers are economizing when it comes to food purchases. Trends identified three stages of consumer behavior:

Stage One - Shoppers save money on eating out by switching from fine dining to fast food. They also seek supermarket meal solutions in place of restaurant fare.

Stage Two - Consumers change their saving measures in the store by buying more private brands, using coupons, buying basic ingredients and shopping with a plan.

Stage Three - Shoppers switch store formats and choose supercenters, warehouse clubs and limited assortment stores>>>
