Add Lavender For New Twist on Old Favorites
We are introducing lavender sea salt, culinary lavender sugar, and ground cilinary lavender. Grown in the hills of Santa Cruz, California, lavender is enjoyed
because of its fragrance and versatility. It lends itself beautifully in recipes that call for
aromatic spices such as cinnamon, cloves, aniseed or allspice.
Use the salt as a rub on meat, toss with steamed veggies or sprinkle on popcorn. You might even try rimming a margarita glass to add some flare!
You can replace all or part of your white sugar with the lavender sugar in your favorite recipes. Sprinkle it on sugar cookies, muffins and cakes just before baking for a lovely effervescence and enhance a glass of lemonade or iced tea.
Use the ground lavender in place of or paired with "sister herbs" oregano, basil, thyme, sage and rosemary. Add it to soups, stews, sauces, gravies, roasted potatoes, preserves and even home made ice cream!
