It is with great sadness that we inform you that Ms. Natasha Lish passed away on March 19th, 2012 from complications due to diabetes. She was 32-years-old.
A graduate of the class of 1997 and a beloved friend and colleague to many, Natasha taught eurythmy at the Waldorf School of Garden City from 2007 to 2009. She also worked in the school's after care program, assisted in the 1st grade (for the class of 2019), and co-advised the class of 2012 when they were in 9th grade.
Prior to working at the Waldorf School, Natasha lived in England for eight years. She studied Waldorf education at the London Waldorf Teacher Training Seminar, earned two eurythmy diplomas from the London College of Eurythmy and performed with the London Eurythmy Ensemble. After teaching at various Waldorf/Steiner schools in England, she found her way back to the United States in 2007 to teach eurythmy at her alma mater. During this time, she developed many close friendships with colleagues, students and families. In 2009, she moved to California to follow her passion for eurythmy. Most recently, she taught movement at the Alice Birney Waldorf-inspired K-8 public school in Sacramento, California.
We will share funeral and/or memorial service details as soon as we obtain that information.
On behalf of the Waldorf School community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to all of Natasha's family, friends and colleagues.
