Dear Orientation Participants:

Twelve years ago, the Waldorf High School initiated its orientation program for freshmen at Camp Glen Brook in New Hampshire.  Since then, orientation has been a way to get back to school, become acquainted with new students, and become re-acquainted with old friends.  This year, we will continue the tradition of having high school seniors introduce various facets of high school life to the incoming freshmen.

Our days together in New Hampshire are meant to be fun-filled, relaxing, and informative.  There will be outdoor activities, discussion groups, informational sessions, and plenty of time to relax and get to know one another.  No electronic devices of any type (including I-pods and cell phones) are allowed on the Glen Brook trips.

Our chartered bus will leave the Waldorf School on Monday, August 30th at 8:30 a.m. and will return on Wednesday, September 1st at 4:30 p.m.  A suggested packing list can be found on our website by clicking here. Pack lightly, it is a short trip. A picnic lunch will be served when we arrive at Glen Brook; students may bring snack items to eat on the bus or during our brief 15 minute stop at a roadside rest area.

If you have any dietary or health/allergy factors of which the staff should be aware, please write me a note and hand it to me on the morning of our departure. From the Health Office, the following requirements must be met:

• All medication for students must be labeled with specific instructions and the student's name along with the Parent & Prescriber's Authorization of Medication Form completely filled out. The medication must be handed to a staff member before boarding the bus.
• All students must have on file a completed 2010-2011 Medical Form.  Please return all forms to the health office as soon as possible.  No student will be allowed on the bus without all required Medical Forms!
