Wolfpack PigWe're Passing Out the Pork at the NCSU Homecoming Game!

On Saturday, November 7th, North Carolina pork producers will be passing out free pork loin samples in the Fan Zone near the RBC Center on the North side of Carter-Finley Stadium.

The North Carolina Pork Council is a game day sponsor for the Homecoming Game and as part of that We Care Logosponsorship,
NCPC has teamed up with Pork Checkoff and the "We Care" trailer to make it all happen.

We'll start serving our delicious pork loin samples beginning at 10am so come see us!

Kay Yow LogoNCPC to Present Kay Yow/WBCA Fund with Donation on Field at NCSU Homecoming Game

In recognition of October as both Pork Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the NC Pork Council accepted donations for the Kay Yow/WBCA Fund at the Pork Chop Shop restaurant at the 2009 N.C. State Fair and also conducted an online auction with all proceeds going to that Fund.

One dollar at a time, volunteers asked patrons at the Pork Chop Shop to make a donation to the Kay Yow Fund. As a result of those efforts, nearly $2,000 was collected during the Fair. NCPC then matched that donation amount dollar-for-dollar.

Further $1,000 more was raised with our online auction.

George Pettus, president of the NC Pork Council, will present a $5,000 donation to the Kay Yow/WBCA Fund on behalf of NC pork producers on the field during the NCSU Homecoming Game between the first and second quarter of the game.

Special thanks to all of the volunteers who helped raise this money, the Pork Chop Shop patrons that donated the money, those of you who took part in the online auction, and Wolfpack Sports Marketing for donating the auction items.
