Base Station Hydraulic Lifter
Telecom Lifters provides an alternative approach to using a crane for lifting a base station. The Telecom Lifters unit is hand carried to the rooftop to be assembled rigidly onto the base station. A small motor provides hydraulic power to lift the base station while a crew completes work below the unit, such as installing a battery backup cabinet or fixing a leak in the roof. The amount of power needed to lift and lower the base station is roughly equivalent to heating a cup of tea in a microwave oven. www.telecomlifters.com
Cell Site Solar Calculator
SunWize has launched a website feature to assist industrial engineers, procurement officers and installers in determining what type of solar electric system is suitable to power equipment in a remote location or to find a reliable backup power system for utility-connected equipment. The Industrial Power System Specifier, at www.sunwize.com, analyzes the type of equipment to powered, voltage, current or power, and duty cycle. www.sunwize.com
Rescue System
Gravitec Systems has developed the TR System, a rescue system specifically geared toward the tower industry. A rescue kit for workers at height, the TR may be used for assisted rescue where the subject is lowered alone or suspended rescue where the rescuer and rescue subject are lowered together. If the rescuer loses control of the rope, built-in fail-safes won't allow free spooling. If the TR is used incorrectly, the lowering operation simply stops. www.gravitec.com
