www.andrew.comAgile Network System

Andrew Solutions has launched the next generation of base station antennas for wireless networks, the SmartBeam agile network system. SmartBeam manages changing capacity demands that result from variations in traffic distribution across locations and over time. SmartBeam will help operators meet customer demand for bandwidth without overbuilding 3G networks to satisfy peak capacity rates. The system has three components: SmartBeam base station antennas, one Teletilt controller per site (wired or wireless), and Antenna Network Management System software. Internal actuators offer the ability to remotely change the beamtilt, the direction of the beam and the width of an antenna beam, depending on the model. www.andrew.com

COMBA-TELECOM

Cell-Split Antenna
Comba Telecom Systems Holdings
Limited has introduced a cell-split
antenna portfolio, which is compatible
with 2G and UMTS networks. The

less incremental base station
investment. The cell-split
antenna increases capacity
through flexible high-order
sectorization, which optimizes
frequency reuse in the traffic
channel. Capacity can be
doubled through optimized
frequency reuse in traffic
channels.
