Aesthetics Can be the Basis of Cell Tower Rejection, Court Rules The 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled last month that aesthetic concerns can be a valid basis for rejecting a tower proposal. A report from Pyramid Research painted a rosy picture for the growth of LTE with worldwide subscriptions growing at a 404 percent clip year over year from 2010 to 2014, according to Daniel Locke, analyst at Pyramid, who noted the surge of support for a single protocol among major players, a level of support not seen since analog cellular. Underground Utility Damages Declining, Report
A study by the Common Ground Alliance (CGA) estimates the total number of incidents of underground utility damage was 200,000 in 2008, down from 256,000 in 2007 and well below the total of 450,000 in 2004. MORE |
Cell Tower Repeatedly Vandalized Copper may be down, but cells sites are still targets. Police are investigating damage done to a cell phone tower near Rome, Ga., according to the Rome News-Tribune. Floyd County police report that the damaged AT&T cell tower has been vandalized several times this year. The latest incident, which damaged a generator, equipment wiring and a perimeter fence, was caught partially on a security camera. The damage was listed at $3,000. |
