KFEQ Loses a Tower, Drops its Power
When a farmer mowing grass took a wrong turn on June 16, KFEQ AM lost a guy wire and eventually one of its four towers came toppling down in Andrew County, Mo. The radio station, based in St. Joseph, Mo., remains on the air but must now broadcast non-directionally at reduced power not to exceed 1.87 kilowatts in the daytime and 1.25 kilowatts at nighttime, per the FCC. Vermont Takes Wireless Broadband Siting to the People
Ever-populist Vermont is taking cell tower siting to the citizens of the green mountain state. In order to fast-track broadband wireless development, the Vermont Telecommunications Authority is welcoming the public to submit their land to be considered for siting more than 200 residential-scale wind turbine/cell towers to be installed throughout the state.  MORE
