Backhaul Radio
The Harris model RF-7800W-OU440 is a wireless bridge that operates as a high-capacity line-of-sight (HCLOS) radio, small enough to mount on the back of a one-foot flat-panel antenna. Weighing less than 2.5 kg, the broadband Ethernet radio can be mounted on a mast for quick deployment, or on a tower system designed for long-distance backhaul. The unit operates in the 4.4 to 5 GHz frequency band, which includes the 4.9 GHz public safety band. The all-Internet Protocol design of the wireless bridge delivers a seamless extension of LANs and WANs, with Ethernet data rates that can exceed 80 Mbps. www.rfcomm.harris.com
Wireless Drive-test System
The Invex.NxG from Andrew uses the portable i.Send transmitter for designing and testing indoor wireless coverage systems. The transmitter imitates wireless base station signals by broadcasting RF signals that allow for coverage measurements indoors. The transmitter can also be used as a low-power source for testing the design and functionality of RF repeaters and base stations. The unit offers over 20 dBm of transmit power for up to four hours between battery charges and supports GSM, CDMA, UMTS and W-CDMA frequency bands with user-settable channel and message parameters. www.commscope.com
LTE Diplexer
Radio Frequency Systems has developed a wideband diplexer technology that will assist carriers as they migrate their cellular network infrastructures to LTE (long-term evolution). As with previous diplexers and triplexers, the new wideband diplexer systems enable feeder sharing of several systems on the same site. Carriers will get access to antennas and associated electronics that will support multi-band and multi-frequency transmissions without physically overloading the cell tower. Frequency bands covered will include 698-960/1710-2200 MHz and 698-787/824-896 MHz. www.rfsworld.com
