NYSWA to Hold State
Wireless Association Conference
A full day of education and dialogue is promised as the New York State Wireless Association convenes its inaugural 2008 Trade Show and Conference, to be held March 20 at the Saratoga Hotel and Conference Center, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

"What is unique about our program is that it will cover what is going on in New York State, and it is accessible to people who may not have the time or the budget to travel to one of the national shows," said Adam Walters, at left, NYSWA secretary. MORE
Repeater Stolen from Tower Site
Thieves bypassed the copper this time and went straight for the guts of the tower site, the radio equipment. Officials are concerned about how the repeater will be used. Now that doesn't mean copper thieves have ceased targeting cell phone towers. Towers in N.J., Va. and N.C. were all separated from their copper wiring and grounding. MORE
3G Driving AT&T Cell Tower Growth
A new AT&T cell site in Hernando County is the first of 50 new sites planned for central, west and north Florida in 2008. Additional cell sites will improve the penetration of AT&T's 3G wireless broadband network. Sprint announced expansion in the mid-atlantic states. MORE

Biby to Speak at MDDCWA Breakfast
Rich Biby, P.E., publisher of AGL Magazine and tower industry CEO, will speak at the February Breakfast Event of the Maryland DC Wireless Association (MDDCWA) from 8 am to 10 am on February 14, in Baltimore at the BWI Airport Marriott. He will address the new FCC Requirement for cell site backup power. Also speaking will be Sean Hughes, Esq. of Donohue and Blue, and Greg Tully of Network Building and Consulting.
