Transformation requires obedience, and obedience requires action.

Radical obedience constitutes one of the three vital pieces in what we call the Faithwalking Mental Model.  This is the obedience that leads us to live a missional life where we are transformed as we give ourselves for the transformation of others.

There is no obedience without action.   As the 2008-2009 school year begins we offer you opportunities to spend yourself in serving and giving for others.  We need your help in order to see lives transformed.

As a donor, by financially supporting the Whole & Healthy
Children Initiative, Faithwalking or the equipping of a CSA team.

As a volunteer, mentoring and/or praying for specific needs in a
   specific community.
As an agent of transformation, by participating in Faithwalking
(retreats are scheduled for September and October 2008.)

Let's multiply these stories!

The meeting in early August was held in the Administration offices of the Stafford Municipal School District. Vickie Dalton, the Compassion Coordinator of our Community Service Area (i.e., CSA) team in Sugarland/Stafford had been invited to introduce Mission Houston and the Whole & Healthy Children school initiative to all of the principals of that school district. The door to this relationship had been opened through the love and encouragement shown by the congregations in that CSA working and praying together over the past 2 years in support of the schools and school district - specifically through two campus improvement projects and through teacher appreciation gifts given at Stafford Primary School. Terry Loudenburg, the Mentor Coordinator for the school district, arranged the meeting to share with the principals her gratitude for what the CSA team had already done and her own enthusiastic endorsement of the expanded and multifaceted Whole & Healthy Children initiative.

A Faithwalking Story...

A satisfied customer.

It's been said that a satisfied customer is the best advertisement. We asked Andy Ramos to share his experience of Faithwalking, the leadership development arm of Mission Houston, with our readers. Andy recently retired from a successful business career and has founded a ministry in Fort Bend County called The Gathering of Men in Fort Bend County. The purpose of this ministry is to disciple men to a mature relationship with Jesus Christ.

Andy completed the Faithwalking experience in the Spring of '08 and has been utilizing the tools he got there in his family and work life. He describes himself as a follower of Christ who sincerely desires to honor Christ in all of life. In many areas Andy says that he had experience lots of success, but there were some areas of his life where victory had eluded him. "I had simply grown resigned and cynical to these areas ever changing. I had significant breakthroughs following my Faithwalking experience."
