Greetings!

Happy New Year!  It's a clean slate and a fresh start.  Set your goals, and visualize what you want for yourself in 2009.  You can do anything you set your mind to...it just starts with believing!

UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX STADIUM, ADVENTURE BOOT CAMP REUNITE

ATTENTION ALL CAMPERS: LEAVE YOUR MATS AT HOME!  DON'T EVEN BRING YOUR WEIGHTS!

Both male and female campers of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels will have the opportunity to challenge their bodies against the forces of gravity.  With such an AWESOME and ENORMOUS facility you don't need mats and you don't need weights.  Just bring your best self with a good pair of running shoes.  All of our exercises for upper and lower body toning and strengthening, core, endurance, cardiovascular strength and overall endurance will take place using the Stadium itself.  We will use the stairs, the ramps, and even the escalators.  We will take advantage of this awesome opportunity to double the intensity of your workout (which means doubling your results) by working against gravity.  All of your muscle groups will be worked!  This will be more effective than any other exercise program you've experienced...it's even more effective than previous classes at the Stadium.

With only 2 classes a week you will spend the class time working your way from the bottom up, whether it's on the stairs, the ramps, or the escalators.  It will challenge the most fit, and even if it's been months since you worked out...you will still do great!

So step on up and let us take you through the workout of a lifetime!

Classes begin Monday, January 12th.  It is a 4 week camp that will run on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:00pm.  Jump on this opportunity!  Come back and see for yourself how incredible this workout will be!

What's so special about stairs?

Researchers in Canada answered the question by monitoring seventeen healthy male volunteers with an average age of sixty-four while they walked, lifted weights, or climbed stairs. Stair-climbing was the most demanding. It was twice as taxing as brisk walking on the level and 50 percent harder than walking up a steep incline or lifting weights. And peak exertion was attained much faster by climbing stairs than by walking, which is why nearly everyone huffs and puffs going up stairs.

It is the best-kept secret in exercise for health. It will help improve your leg strength and balance as well as your heart and waistline because you are carrying your body weight against gravity.

It is also effective at increasing blood circulation and it improves lung and heart function.

It burns about twice as many calories than any other sport or activity.

It challenges more muscles than walking or running.

If you run 30 minutes per day, the same workout intensity could be achieved with 15 minutes of stair climbing.

Stair climbing is excellent for cross-training.  If you are training for a run, a sport, or overall fitness this is a great complement to your workout.

COME EXPERIENCE IT YOURSELF...THIS WORKOUT WILL MAKE YOU STRONGER, LEANER, HEALTHIER, AND MORE CONFIDENT!

 AIMING TO RELIEVE FINANCIAL STRESS

Tough Economy, Job Losses Call for More Value in Caring for Yourself
We will offer grants for those who have lost their jobs, or who have struggling businesses due to the tough economy.

Despite the struggling economy, Northwest Valley Adventure Boot Camp is still going strong, offering a total of three morning classes and two evening classes throughout the Northwest Valley.  This economy, however, has hit many of the campers through job loss or a failed business. When these unfortunate circumstances occur, the campers continue to take as many classes as their budget will allow, until it's time to eliminate that expense.

Lisa Olona is the owner of the Adventure Boot Camp in the Northwest Valley and instructor for the Peoria and University of Phoenix Stadium locations. "I know these campers see the importance of taking care of yourself through struggling times.  When the stress goes up, so does your need to love yourself by taking care of your mind and body through exercise and nutrition," states Olona. A group fitness class is an economically smart way to get the expertise of a fitness trainer, without the high costs of a personal trainer, because campers share the costs.

Olona says,
"I also understand that when you lose your job, or your business begins to decline, it can become impossible to continue to make the investment in yourself.  This, however, doesn't take away the need to exercise and eat right."

Olona does believe it's a need. Having been unemployed herself prior to owning her fitness camp, Olona spent every day hiking a mountain or lifting weights.  It was while she was lifting weights that a group of ladies asked her to help them with their workout.  "It was at that moment I found my destiny, building the strength and confidence of others."  Olona realizes, had she let herself get depressed, go on medication, and hide out in her home, she would not have had this opportunity to lead her where she is today.

"I believe because of that hardship that I went through, I have such a compassion for those going through it now.  In addition to the financial stress, it is emotionally draining to feel the rejection of losing a job, or trying to find a new one.  Being a part of a group that is doing something healthy for themselves can help you hold onto that confidence and give you the positive energy you will need to find a job or rebuild your business.  Not to mention, it's a great opportunity to network."

Olona will offer one full camp grant (5 day camp for four weeks) for every ten participants at each class, based on need and in the order in which they arrive.

Next camp begins January 12th.
