Greetings!

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read our newsletter.  This is an exciting time, as we are getting everyone fit so they feel strong, confident, and lean for the Holidays.  In addition, we are getting geared up for the year 2008!  We will be reaching out to new communities and adding a coed and a beginner's class.  It's a growing time, and we have the best instructors in the valley hopping aboard to continue to make Peoria Adventure Boot Camp a quality fitness program.

Teaming Up

Welcome Vistancia and Glendale!
Welcome Coed Evening Class!

Meet your new Trainers!  From left to right, Lisa Olona, Founder and Program Director, has been running the 5:30am class and the 9:00am class at Paseo Verde Park in Peoria for over 1 year now.

Next to Lisa is Carol de la Montaigne.  Carol has attended Lisa's camp for over 2 years now.  She has been teaching group classes through the City of Glendale Foothills Center, and recently earned her Fitness Trainer Certification through NESTA. Carol will be the instructor the Beginner's Boot Camp, which will be great for Seniors, at Foothills Park in Glendale on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Next to Carol is Rhonda Lence.  Rhonda has also attended Lisa's classes for 2 years.  She has her Fitness Training Certification, and Nutritional Advisor Certification through Fittour.  She also earned a Pilates certification through Bally's Total Fitness.  She will be instructing the Coed Evening Boot Camp at Paseo Verde Park in Peoria, Monday through Friday from 6pm to 7pm.

On the far right is Jody Zavala.  Jody has attended boot camp since Lisa's very first camp in November of 2004.  Jody has been an Elementary P.E. teacher, volleyball coach, and cross country coach for 16 years. She is earning her fitness trainer certification through NESTA, also.  Jody will be instructing the Monday through Friday, 5:30am to 6:30am class in Vistancia.

All three, new trainers are also Adventure Boot Camp Certified.  In addition to their knowledge, and personal experience with fitness, they will have also developed the skills and tools needed to run an effective boot camp class.  Although, it has been said, "People don't care what you know, until they know that you care."  That is what makes me excited to bring on these 3 ladies.  They have a passion for health and fitness, that they have demonstrated through their own lives, and they truly care about the individuals they will be training.

You can become more familiar with these trainers by visiting our website at www.PeoriaBootCamp.com.  Their Biographies will be posted by November 15th.

I am looking forward to a dynamic year in 2008!  And I would like to welcome the 3 top boot camp instructors in the valley!!

Help us Help Justin Spencer

Join our efforts to help Justin get his special needs service dog.

Justin is a 7-year-old boy with blue eyes and an infectious laugh.  He looks like any other little boy; however, looks can be deceiving.  Justin has been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome (autism spectrum disorder), ADHD, and bipolar disorder.  He is also globally developmentally delayed and has sensory integration dysfunction and a learning disorder.

Justin's mom, Lisa Beth, of Phoenix is raising funds on behalf of 4 Paws For Ability, a non-profit organization specializing in the training and placement of service dogs for children with disabilities that has accepted Justin into their program.

Unfortunately, some autistic kids, like Justin, are "elopers" and take every chance to escape even from a seemingly secure place.  Combined with their attraction to dangers which they are unaware of, such as traffic, pools, or strangers, this makes a deadly combination!  Time is wasted when the search starts in the opposite direction the child went and the child does not or cannot respond to his name being called.  Justin's dog will be trained to track him... even if he is hiding and not able to be seen by those looking for him.  To prevent dashing into traffic or escaping, Justin will wear a vest that will be attached to a harness on the dog.

Justin's dog will do much more, such as be trained to put his paw on Justin's leg to disrupt these behaviors.  The dog will provide him with a friend that he desperately needs.  This dog will be his physical and psychological anchor to help keep him safe and help stabilize his mood by providing unwavering friendship and loyalty.

You can help bring some magic to Justin's life by joining us in our efforts to help Justin be matched with his friend.
