The Applachian Trail
Georgia-Maine
| | On the Summit of Mt. Katahdin |
I began on March 18 at Springer Mountain in Georiga, not knowing six months later I would reach the top of Mt. Katahdin in Maine, having walked 2179 miles through 14 states. It was a journey of courage and personal growth, and the lessons I learned will stay with me for the rest of my life.
A huge thank you to the many friends whose love and support sustained me during my time on the trail. Your cards, care packages, emails and calls helped me make it. I simply could not have done it alone. The biggest thank you goes to my family, especially my brother Rich, who joined me in Virginia and then returned to hike the 100 Mile Wilderness and together we climbed Mt. Kathadin.
