Happy July!

Though the 4th has come and gone, it's still an appropriate time to reflect on our nation and what it stands for. Perhaps not coincidentally, many of the things I love about the United States are qualities shared by Honest Tea - like the U.S. our company represents a wide diversity of backgrounds, geographies and even viewpoints about the world, but we work together effectively as one team for a common cause. The USA is one of the only places on earth where a few people with modest resources can unite around a common idea, and build it into a national enterprise. And we should never take that freedom, and that opportunity, for granted.

Of course our nation still faces challenges - the preamble to the Constitution commits us to a continual effort to create a more perfect union, and there is still much work to be done. But for all the challenges we face, we owe an immeasurable debt to the generations who have risked their lives to protect our safety and our freedom.

I hope you enjoy the month, and be sure to find some time to be thankful for the many blessings we enjoy.

Honestly yours,

Seth

Can a Fake Lemon Get in an Honest Tea Bottle?

In celebration of using real, organic ingredients in our beverages we're launching our first-ever video ad! Click play and watch for yourself to discover the fate of this dishonest lemon and his faux tea leaf posse--we hope you enjoy the clip!

An Honest Thanks

We want to thank everyone who viewed and shared our video featuring our TeaEO's recent journey to the Korakundah Tea Garden in Southern India-the location where we source the black tea for our Raspberry Black Tea. We are donating desks and chairs to a classroom of 40 students who attend the community school there-now that's Fair Trade Empowerment. That's Seth in the upper left of the photo, and in the rear middle, Nora Pittenger from FairTrade USA. To view our Honest Origins journey CLICK HERE!

Steep Yourself in Honest Tea Culture

Many Honest fans have recently asked us "What is it really like to be an employee at Honest Tea?" Well, we went to the expert-our very own VP of Human Resources, Debra Schwartz to hear about Honest CommuniTEA!

Q: What makes the Honest mission unique?

A: We take our mission seriously--we try and live up to it every day, with everything we do. We recently conducted an employee satisfaction survey and this is what one employee said, "We promote health and wellness and community service. A lot of companies talk the talk, but we actually walk the walk.

Q: What does a typical day at Honest Tea HQ look like?

A: Typical is not a word in my vocabulary! A typical day, if there is one, will consist of a little bit of payroll, preparing Afternoon Tea-our daily newsletter and speaking with employees about what is going on in their lives. I'm constantly working on special projects including the company meeting, HT service day and long-term strategic initiatives. Every day is different, which is exciting.

Q: Describe one of your proudest moments of being part of Honest Tea

A: At our annual company meeting we give out employee awards where employees are recognized by their peers. The room erupts, people are on their feet cheering and clapping-there is an overwhelming sense of family and that we are all in this together. I'm always proud that I'm a part of this hard working group of people and what they have accomplished.

We're Headed to Your CommuniTEA!
