Greetings!
Greetings and Happy May! This year is flying by; we can't believe Mother's Day is just around the corner! Here at Honest Tea, we love our mothers, and we especially love our Honest Kombucha mother - yup, all kombucha starts with a "mother." Really! You can read more on our website about how Honest Kombucha is made, and why we are especially proud to say that we think our Honest Kombucha mother is the best! In honor of Mother's Day, the first five people who tweet on May 9, Mother's Day, about why you love your mother, and why you want to try Honest Kombucha, will receive coupons for five free bottles of Honest Kombucha - one of each variety! (But make sure you're following @HonestTea on Twitter, or we won't be able to get in touch with you to send your prize!) With the approach of summer days filled with our very own Honest Road Warriors spreading across the U.S. sampling Honest Tea, and day-dreaming about new varieties of Honest beverages, we are having fun and certainly hope you are too!

WHO SAYS THERE'S NO HONEST TEA ON WALL STREET?
|
| What happens when you ask Wall Street to play by the honor system? Honest Tea hit the streets of New York to test the honesty of Wall Streeters, by setting up an unstaffed stand, stocked full of chilled Honest drinks. An empty jar and the honor system - $1 per bottle - put New Yorkers to the test. The findings? Honestly, surprising! Over the course of two hours, hundreds of people stopped to see what was going on and encountered the unattended display and large jar filled with cash. Over 89 percent took the ethical route and paid for Honest Tea and Honest Ade beverages. Would you have paid? Take The Huffington Post poll here and watch the video here. Since the test occurred on Earth Day, we donated all proceeds from our social experiment to EarthShare, a non-profit that raises funds for environmental organizations. Look for more Honest City tests in the coming weeks.

OUR TeaEO JOINS AMERICAN BEVERAGE ASSOCIATION BOARD
|
| On April 28, the American Beverage Association announced that our very own TeaEO, Seth Goldman, will join their board of directors! It's great news to see the evolution of this trade group, formerly known as the National Soft Drink Association, and its recognition of the growing importance of healthier beverages and sustainability - issues that have been at the core of Honest Tea's mission since Seth and Barry started the company 12 years ago. "The American Beverage Association is going to keep building on our successful nutrition, environment and education initiatives, and we are glad to have Seth as one of our leaders," Susan K. Neely, ABA president and chief executive officer, said. "After starting Honest Tea out of my home, it is an honor, and a little surreal to join the ABA board of directors," Mr. Goldman said. "The beverage industry is undergoing some dramatic changes and I look forward to working as part of the ABA to make progress on the issues and challenges we face." Read more about it on Seth's Inc blog post.

NATIONAL CANCER RESEARCH MONTH
|
| May is National Cancer Research Month, and we want to share what we've learned about cancer research, which shows that a healthy diet that includes choosing healthy beverages can decrease your risk of cancer. For instance, research has shown that beverages with high sugar content (such as soft drinks and some types of juice) often add large amounts of calories to your diet and can cause weight gain, which can affect cancer outcomes. Plus, most beverages that are high in sugar do not add many nutrients to the diet and often replace more nutritious food choices. One recent study even links sugary soft drinks to a risk in the development of pancreatic cancer. Click here for a list of tips from the National Foundation for Cancer Research on how to choose beverages that are best for your health.

HONEST CONSUMER OF THE MONTH
|
| Almost from the day Honest Tea began selling organic bottled tea, enthusiastic consumers have been sharing their experiences with us - and we love it! Your letters, postcards, phone calls and e-mails make us smile (most of the time!). Since we've had so many wonderful consumers of the month, we've launched a new contest-driven web page where our fans can share their story and submit fun photos. Each month, Honest Tea will vote on our favorite submission and that lucky consumer will win a FREE case of Honest beverages. Enter to win here. This month, our Honest Consumer is Loretta "Lori" Lemon, of Lyons, IL, who was just elated when her daughter brought a Lori's Lemon Honest Tea home for her and it was love at first sip! How perfect is that? Lori says, "I like the name. I like the taste and I like the price. What could be better?" Well said, Lori! Lori will be getting a case of - you guessed it - Lori's Lemon Honest Tea. Enjoy!
