Kneebone have in common? You get the incomparable, incredibly zany, highly
creative, dynamic duo of Laura and Lisa and together they spell "WE ARE FAMILY".
The "WE ARE FAMILY" S.T.A.R. Chorus under the musical direction of Master
Director Laura, and her highly creative visual consultant sister, Lisa, is our

This is a "Sisterhood of Song" tribute to all of us singing cowgirl sistuhs from

Trial Scoring Opportunity |
|
This is your official invitation to find out what it is that the
judges are listening for, what they want in a performance and how they
come up with the numbers. You can pick any category - Music, Sound,
Expression, Showmanship - and have a front row seat at the Novice
Competition on Friday night at Summer Sizzler.
To register for this class, just email me at bobbette.gantz@sbcglobal.net,
tell me your name, your chapter, and what category you'd like to
judge.
Buy or borrow a copy of the Judging Category Description
Booklet and give it a read. We'll meet Friday at 6:00 in the Sierra Room to
talk about judging, trial score a mini contest via DVD and get ready to
trial score the real thing. After the contest, we'll meet to review
the scoring and see how we all did.
Looking forward to hearing from all of you on this great opportunity to educate your ears and eyes!! Bobbette Gantz

Is Your Chorus FLOAT Ready for the Pool? |
|
The
Winners' Circle is taking the plunge and pulling out all the stops with
our first ever "float contest" for the Afterglow by the Pool at Summer Sizzler.
This is your choruses' opportunity to
lasso your team spirit and there's nothing better than a good old
fashioned float contest to bring out that team spirit!
YOUR MISSION...Create
a "FLOAT" that floats and represents your chorus culture and rope it
around the weekend theme of "Diamonds and Denim". Whether it be
floatable milk cartons, pool rafts, noodles, etc., this is your time to
step out of the box, rip open that shower curtain and go crazy.
THE "OFFICIAL" RULES AND REGULATIONS...- All floats can be no larger than 3 feet by 3 feet.
- All floats must be on display when the official afterglow
begins.
- All floats must be branded seaworthy and pool safe by the official
trail boss. If the official trail boss deems your float as seaworthy,
you will be given a number representing your order of appearance to
float your float when the judging begins at 11:00 p.m.
- All floats
must be self-contained so that nothing falls into the pool (i.e.,
sequins, fringe, feathers, eyelashes, all-in-ones, etc.)
- All
floats must be able to float from from one end of the pool to the other
and without the use of motors (gas or electric) or similar devices that
could contaminate the water. No other restrictions so be as creative as
you dare to be!
LOGISTICS...- 10:00 PM - Diamonds and Denim Afterglow (immediately following the Winners' Circle Show)
All
floats regardless of seaworthy will be on display on tables around the
pool from 10:00-11:00 p.m. so that they can be admired and adored.
This
year all food tables will be set up on the grass area versus around the
pool as in last year so as to not interfere with the floats on display
or the actual contest.
- 11:00 PM - Float Contest Judging by The Perfect Gentlemen
All floats given the seaworthy stamp of approval will be judged on creativity and overall design. Awards will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons.
If
you have any questions, please email Mary Ashford at
bary2bass@yahoo.com.
Good Luck to everyone who is takes the plunge and
enters the Rawhide Regatta Roundup. This will be a memory-making event
that you know we'll talk about for years to come so jump on yer horse
and be a part of making.
