Customer Spotlight: Salvatore Settepani does it again!

Pasticceria Bruno's Salvatore Settepani wins a silver medal

While the Americans racked up the medals at the Winter Olympics in Canada Salvatore Settepani of Pasticceria Bruno in Dongan Hills and West Brighton garnered his own silver medal Sunday at a prestigious pastry competition in Manhattan.

The crowd cheered loudly as Settepani was announced as a second place winner behind Nathaniel Reid of the St. Regis Hotel in Dana Point, Calif. Settepani bested Andrew Chlebana of Joliet Junior College in Illinois, who placed third.

A total of 12 contenders vied for $10,000 in total prize money at the 21st annual US Pastry Competition, which had the theme, "The Olympics: Winter Games," at the International Restaurant & Foodservice show at the Jacob K. Javits Center in Manhattan...
