CaitlinThe Journey Out of the Shelter

"Who wants to foster a really cute litter of kittens?" "How about a little scruffy terrier?" "Remember that foster who really likes Standard Poodles? Who was that again?" These, along with many others, are the questions I get asked everyday as the Foster Care Coordinator for OK Humane. Along with the two Transfer Coordinators, I am primarily responsible for finding placement for as many animals as possible to transfer them out of the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division (OKC AWD) to the OK Humane adoption program. Read more about Caitlin's job here.

500th Surgery500th Special Program Surgery

The OK Humane Place Spay & Neuter Clinic has a program funded by the ASPCA called Fix-A-Dog. This program allows people living in one of the four targeted areas to pay what they can afford to pay for their dog's surgery.

The four zip codes chosen for this program were selected due to being the top four zip codes the Oklahoma City Animal Welfare Division receives in animals from. The four zip codes are 73107, 73108, 73109 and 73119. Read more about the 500th surgery here.

12 Days of Catmas12 Days of Catmas

The "12 Days of Catmas" is another great joint adoption event between OK Humane and OKC Animal Welfare. The event will be held December 11 through December 22 at Oklahoma City Animal Welfare, with 2 BONUS days at OK Humane's Adoption Center on December 23 and until 3 p.m. on December 24th! Cats 6 months and older will be free at both organizations. All cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on all boosters, have been dewormed, treated for fleas and ticks, have received a Rabies vaccination if they are old enough, and have tested negative for FIV and Feline Leukemia.
