We Need Your Stuff for the PAL Garage Sale!
Pal-OK Raises money with garage sale! PAL-OK will be holding a MASSIVE garage sale to raise money, and we need all your great old stuff!  Now is a great time to clean out your closets and garages, all to help save animals! The garage sale will be held June 1 & 2.  We just need your stuff--No additional help is required, you don't have to stay at the garage sale (unless you want to!) and donations are tax deductible!  Please contact Emily at emily@pal-ok.org or call (405) 290-8723 if you have items to donate.  You can bring your items to the house any evening the week before the sale (just call first).  The sale will be held at 2701 NW 61st Street in OKC.
URGENT Need for Foster Homes for 9 Dogs
Annie needs a foster home right away!We have 9 PAL dogs of various ages and sizes that, due to a variety of circumstances, need to find foster homes IMMEDIATELY.  If we can't find foster homes, we will have to spend money to board these dogs, which is expensive and very stressful for the dogs.  These animals need a home environment where they can learn manners and housetraining, and what it's like to be part of a family! They are all altered and vaccinated; they can go to outreaches immediately.  They just need foster homes until they are adopted.  PLEASE help these guys.  Click here to learn more or contact Brenda.
Exciting Time for Animal Welfare Community!
By Kim Pempin

As a board member of Pet Assistance League of Oklahoma (PAL-OK), I am thrilled to be a part of such an exciting time in the animal welfare community.

PAL-OK and the newly formed Oklahoma Humane Society are nonprofit animal welfare organizations partnering together to promote responsible pet ownership, humane ducation, ending pet overpopulation and placing as many animals into loving homes as possible.

Follow the link to view two video clips. This first one is our Major Mick Cornett interviewing Christy Counts - President of the Oklahoma Humane Society. Featured guests include 3 of PAL-OK's very own "kids" that will be ready for adoption this month.

The second clip talks about the TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) program. I can now add "Colony Manager" to my resume. As of this writing, with the help of Christy Counts and the wonderful volunteers from the OK Humane Society, we trapped 5 of my 8 feral cats, got them spayed/neutered, and returned them to the colony. We will trap the other 3 next week. This is HUGE, HUMANE endeavor to reduce the overpopulation!

If you would be interested in helping us, please let us know. Each volunteer is invaluable to our mission.  We CAN make a difference for animals in Oklahoma - one animal at a time!
Adoption Updates
A new pet parent with her forever friend! Here is the news we are probably most proud of: since our formation in October of 2006, with the help of all our volunteers and foster homes, we have found homes for 200 dogs and 242 cats!  In just 6 months! Thanks to those who foster, those who volunteer their time and those who adopt instead of buying from pet shops and breeders.  Together, we really can make a difference.
Fosters, Please Keep Your Dogs
Up To Date and Tagged!
Sasha needs a new foster home! We really appreciate all of our foster parents. Be sure, especially during the height of flea and tick season, that the pet you are fostering has had Frontline Plus applied within the last month. Also, we must keep the pets on monthly ivermectin for heartworm prevention. The good news is that this can be done when you bring your foster pet to an outreach. If you would let one of the outreach leaders know that your dog needs one or both of these, we will take care of it while your pet is there and make note of it on the health record. If your pet has not had heartworm preventative for an extended period of time, he or she will need to be heartworm tested again before adoption and started on preventative. Another important item is that your dog wear his or her rabies tag. If for some reason, you do not have a tag, please let us know.
Are You Organized? Want to Help PAL-OK?
Donate your old cell phones and printer cartridges to PAL-OK We have a program in place for collecting used cell phones and printer cartridges.  These items can be turned in for donations.  We have a lot of phones and cartridges collected, but we don't currently have a volunteer to manage the collection and mail-in of these items.  There is a web site with instructions, and they provide postage-paid mailers.  We want to utilize this fundraising source, but we need a volunteer who can organize it.  If you want to learn more or think you could help with this project, email info@pal-ok.org and we'll talk more about it!
