Volunteers, Fosters Neeeded for Adopt-a-thon PAL-OK is participating in Petsmart's annual Adopt-a-thon, which will take place at the Edmond Petsmart (on Broadway between 15th & 33rd) on May 4 & 5, 2007. We need lots of volunteers to help at the outreach to make this event successful, but most importantly we neeed foster homes to house dogs and cats before the event. This adopt-a-thon provides an opportunity for us to find homes for a great number of animals, so the more foster homes we have, the more animals we can adopt! WE NEED YOU! Contact us at 286-1229 or info@pal-ok.org if you can help. |

We Need Your Stuff for the PAL Garage Sale! PAL-OK will be holding a MASSIVE garage sale to raise money, and we need all your great old stuff! Now is a great time to clean out your closets and garages, all to help save animals! The garage sale will be held June 1 & 2. We'll need volunteers to help move items the week before the sale. No additional help is required, you don't have to stay at the garage sale (unless you want to!) and donations are tax deductible! Please contact Emily at emily@pal-ok.org or call (405) 605-5409 if you have items to donate. We can store them in PAL storage until the sale. |

PAL-OK Launches New Web Site; User Forums We have launched our brand-new web site, and we're very proud of it! We want this web site to be a community for our adopters, potential adopters, and most of all our volunteers. Visitors can fill out an application to adopt an animal, become a foster parent or volunteer. You can browse our available animals, see all the ways you can help PAL-OK and make a donation! Our most exciting new feature is our user forums, where you can interact and share ideas and notes with other volunteers and pet owners. Join Our Online Community today! There's a message board just for PAL volunteers! |

PAL Volunteers, Students Visit Animal Shelter Rita Hoch and Gayl Leichner took some members of the St. Francis Society of Bishop McGuinness High School on a tour of the Oklahoma City Animal Shelter on April 5th. Many of the pets PAL rescues come from the shelter, and the students and three teachers who accompanied them were shown how that process works, and they got to meet some of our rescues who were leaving the shelter that day. They were impressed with the new barn and new front lobby of the shelter where the puppies, cats, and kittens will get to reside in large glassed in rooms rather than the dreary small pens that they have had to stay in. |

Adoption Updates Here is the news we are probably most proud of: since our formation in October of 2006, with the help of all our volunteers and foster homes, we have found homes for 177 dogs and 258 cats! In just 5 1/2 months! Thanks to those who foster, those who volunteer their time and those who adopt instead of buying from pet shops and breeders. Together, we really can make a difference. | |

Cat Fosters Needed!
We really need foster homes for some cats. There are three (not together) with URI that need to go to homes with meds for a little while. They are completely vetted and will be ready for adoption as soon as they feel better. Then we also have a momma and kittens that need a foster home too. Cats don't take up a lot of space and are pretty independent. Please consider helping one of these babies. email us at info@pal-ok.org if you can help asap. Thank you! |
