SPRR Annual Picnic
Join SPRR members and guest at the annual picnic.  We have plenty of fun events planned!

The annual SPRR picnic will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, April 12 at Ft. DeSoto Park, North Beach, Shelter #2. The picnic is open to members, family, and friends. The club will provide hot dogs, hamburgers, and the fixins. Member should plan to bring a beverage and a dish to share with others.  During the picnic we will be presenting the awards for the SPRR Racing Series. We will also be raffling off many great prizes. Post cards with the details of the picnic will be mailed to members in the near future.  To RSVP for the picnic, please contact Sheryl Aimanovich at 850-582-6251 or anfsunshine@yahoo.com

Please plan to participate in a trail run prior to the Annual Picnic.

Come a little early to the SPRR Picnic and do a wilderness run on unpaved trails of beautiful Fort DeSoto. This will be a fun run...not a race. Meet at THE FLAGPOLE in front of Park headquarters at 9:30 AM for an approximately five mile run. We will finish at SPRR picnic site with showers and rest rooms near-by. No registration, no fee, no timing results, no prizes - just a good time exploring seldom seen unspoiled areas of the Park.

Marathon and Half-Marathon Training Clinic
The SPRR Marathon and Half-Marathon Training Clinic is under way, but you can still sign up!  Clinic participants will be running the Marathon and Half Marathon of the Palm Beaches, which is currently scheduled for December 7, 2008.  If you are interested, please contact Ben Fudge at bfudge62@earthlink.net. If you want to hear about the early success of the clinic, ask any participant about their results for Bay to Bay.  Most likely, they will tell you that they had a PR!

Clinic Benefits

1. Personalized training program for each participant. Each runner's training program will be developed based on that runner's individual goals and abilities. We will NOT be using a generalized training program from a web site, book, or magazine.

2. Organized group runs and speed work sessions.

3. The support you need to achieve your race goal.

This will also be a great opportunity for you to meet people with similar interest and that share a common love for the sport of running.

Volunteers Needed for a Water Stop at the Max Bayne 10 Miler and 5K
SPRR has the opportunity to host a water stop during the Max Bayne 10 Miler and 5K on Sunday, March 30.  The Max Bayne is presented by the West Florida Y Runners Club and takes place at Ft. DeSoto Park in Pinellas County.  SPRR having a water stop during this race would be a great way to show our support for another local running club.  We need approximately 10 members to volunteer.  If you are interested, please email Bill Castleman at bcastleman@tampabay.rr.com or contact him via telephone at 727-391-8150.   Additional information about the Max Bayne 10 Miler and 5K is provided below.
