The holidays are fast approaching and this is a time to give thanks and celebrate with important individuals in our lives. LVCC will be sponsoring two events this month to help others and ask that you join in these efforts.

 

LVCC annual dues are due-$5 per person and $40 for a business. Checks should be made payable to LVCC and sent to 3355 N. Clark.

LVCC Founder's Reception

November 9, 2010

Join us for our Founder's Reception at Harry Caray's, 3551 N. Sheffield from 6-9 p.m. Your donation to this event ensures LVCC will continue our mission to work on such projects as "Operation Mitten" which provides winter apparel to needy children, sponsoring social events to showcase our neighborhood, assisting with the Jarvis Bird Sanctuary, providing educational forums, provide community health care forums, assist local charities with fundraising and a variety of other programs. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to our troops over this Veteran's Day. OPERATION MITTEN 
Help children in the area keep warm this winter by donating to OPERATION MITTEN. All proceeds raised are used to purchase mittens, gloves, scarves and hats for the children in need. Many of these items are given to the beat officers in the 19th and 23rd Police Districts  to pass out to children they see in need while they are on their patrols. Also we provide the winter apparel items to the Children's Holiday Parties at the 19th and 23rd Police Districts for children from financially challenged homes. Send your donation to LVCC at 3355 N. Clark, Chicago, Illinois 60657. Thank you for making this winter warmer for children and helping the children in need.  
THANKSGIVING SERVICE
November 18, 2010 at 7PM

Join the Lakeview community for a non denominational Thanksgiving Service at Lake View Presbyterian Church, 716 W. Addison. The Lake View Clergy and LVCC have for the past years provided this service for all members of Lakeview for us to give thanks. We ask that you donate money or non perishable items of food. Everything collected will be donated to the Lake View Food Pantry. You can also bring items or mail checks to our office at 3355 N. Clark, Chicago, Illinois 60657. After the service there will be a reception with refreshments and desserts. We hope you can join us for this service and reception. 

23rd District Children's Holiday Party
December 4, 2010
The 23rd District Steering Committee is hosting the Annual Children's Holiday Party for approximately 250 children. The names and ages of the children are provided by local school as children in need. The money raised is used to purchase a present for each child and a stocking of candy. Winter apparrel is provided by LVCC and each child receives mittens or gloves and a hat. Santa greets all the children at the party. For many of these children this will be their only holiday celebration. 

The 23rd District also provides development for youth through activities such as the Youth Explorer Program, youth softball, youth basketball and other educational projects.

You can make a contribution to these programs by sending a check payable to the 23rd District Steering Committee and sent to Barbara Madro at 4318 N. Sheridan, 3A, Chicago, Ill. 60613. Thank you for your generosity and for making this holiday season special for needy youth.
