Greetings!

A special thanks to Carol, Dennis, Jay, Jim, Scott and Ryan who joined me this past weekend at Space Park for our semi-annual clean-up and planting.

Speaking of volunteers, we need volunteers to work the upcoming Halloween Parade on Sunday, October 31st.  We will have two shifts (3PM-6PM and 5PM-8PM).  Contact us to help.

Triangle will be organizing family fun in Space Park (candy give-away, cookie decorating, bean-bag toss games, etc.) from 4:30-5:30PM in advance of the kid costume contest judging at 5:30PM.

Adults, couples and groups will register at SPIN (800 W Belmont) as in prior years for the 6:15PM parade kick-off.  New this year is the opportunity to work on a float as there will be 20 spots for floats in the parade (advance registration required).

The costume parade has become the city's most renowned Halloween event drawing easily 10,000 spectators and the 14th Annual parade should be no different.  The parade goes from Belmont to Addison with a new main stage area near Brompton.  The theme of the 2010 parade is "Little Street of Horrors".
Addison-Fremont All Way Stop

The saga continues with the support of Inter-American School who is also in favor of maintaining the Addison-Fremont all-way stop.  Originally only put in for the construction, the stop has been a help to pedestrian traffic crossing over for the Addison "El".  Residents have commented the stop has not negatively impacted the traffic pattern going or leaving Cubs games but instead improves safety near the school and "El" - especially with the additional parking lot traffic from the police station.  Be sure to call the Alderman's Office at 773-525-6034 to express your concerns over its impending removal.
