Greetings!
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. At the Triangle Annual Meeting and Elections in June, the current Executive Board was re-elected for another one-year term. Many of us attended Halsted Tastes Better where Chicago Diner took the top prize in the waiter race. We're looking forward to starting our new year at September's meeting (Wed, September 8th at 7PM).
In the meantime, we need volunteers to work pouring beer at the upcoming Lake View Music Fest. Triangle will have two 2-hour shifts from 5-7PM on both Saturday (Aug 28) and Sun (Aug 29). All tips we raise will benefit Space Park. It's a lot of fun so get a couple people together to help us. RSVP please as soon as possible.
Finally, if you live on Roscoe between Halsted and Clark you'll notice the City is doing a Sewer Lining Project from now until mid-August. Parking will be limited and you may be asked to limit your water usage for 24-48 hours. Contact Alderman Tunney's office for more details.

Northlasted Market Days
Saturday & Sunday, August 7-8th Noon to 10:00pm
The Midwest's largest two-day street festival will be held Aug. 7-8 on Halsted Street between Addison and Belmont. Three stages will showcase more than 40 live musical acts, including Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. The festival also features 400 food and arts & crafts vendors, so there's something for everyone.
The event spans six city blocks, has 17 entrance
gates and features three music stages with more than 40 musical acts
performing. Many of these artists are top-name, national headliners,
giving Northalsted Market DaysŪ a reputation for some of the best live
music in Chicago. For information,

DS Cantina Now Open
Halsted's newest edition, D.S. Cantina, is now open at 3352 N Halsted. You can sip tequila and machine-made margaritas while you eat burgers and tacos
at this new Boystown hot spot. The side patio is perfect for
people-watching in the neighborhood. Opened by the same people who bring us Minibar Ultra Lounge & Cafe, John and Stu will be at the September Triangle Neighbor's meeting requesting a PPA (Public Place of Amusement) License. If granted, the PPA would allow them to have live music, charge a cover charge, have pool tables, and show paid television programs.

Addison-Fremont All Way Stop
During the summer break, Triangle's Executive Board met to recommend maintaining the All-Way stop at Addison and Fremont. Originally only put in for the construction, the stop has been a help to pedestrian traffic crossing over for the Addison "El". Also, residents have commented the stop has not changed the traffic pattern going or leaving Cubs games. However, the branch immediately north (ELVN) recommended its removal and Alderman Tunney's website indicates it would come down. What are your thoughts? Let us know so we can share with the Alderman.
